@chrisnoaro1 Okay, whatever. That was one example, there are many others (start with the inuits’ traditional diet). Saturated fat is more stable than most vegetable oils, we’ve been eating it for hundreds of thousands of years. I don’t care what you eat, but my recommendation is take B12 and whatever amino acid supplements your conscience can live with (do bacteria feel pain?). And of course I eat plants (maybe not bark), so I get that protection too.

@TreachMarkets Actually they rarely eat the meat of the cattle, just the blood & milk. Rather they eat the flesh of wild-ranging sheep & goats that are low in saturated fat. Also they eat plants such as roots, grass & bark that are rich in vitamins & anti-oxidants to help protect them from heart disease, high cholesterol & cancer. There are other factors I haven’t got time or space to go into & personally my own heart health has improved dramatically since I tried a whole plant foods vegan diet.

@chrisnoaro1 Oh, you’re one of those people who still think that saturated fat causes heart disease. How quaint. Someone should tell the Masai tribe in Africa that they shouldn’t be living so long on a mostly beef diet, because it doesn’t match up with your quaint little cholesterol theory.

@TreachMarkets You feel vindicated just because one person doesn’t give you a decent response to your claims and that that somehow validates an argument? Smart! I didn’t have time for anything else and hoped you might just run off and shorten your life with a big juicy lump of steak

@chrisnoaro1 Thanks for your content-free critique, I feel vindicated now

@JubblyJack so true, I’m off 4 of them for good, but still trying to get off flour – wish me luck, man!

@TreachMarkets Silly stuff, go post somewhere else, please!!

This is partial B.S. He’s right about sugar but animal protein does not promote hunger, as anyone who has been on the Atkins Diet can attest to. And he’s totally ignoring the fact that some foods contain lots of nutrients but have other properties that block nutrient absorption, like soy. Plus, some of these nutrients are only absorbed with fat, so putting some steak into your veggie bowl will increase net nutrient absorption.

Educational

yes multiply something by some unknown factor and make your own conclusions from it

ahso bored any guys want to rescue me

This is a great lesson on high nutrient foods and a lesson on how misguided our governmnt endorsed food charts are.

I just found out about this guy and I think hes truely great
and lol @ 5 white poisons

The implication of Furhman’s chart is that the more vitamins and minerals one consumes, the better. This is the only thing I’ve argued against . The vitamin and mineral status of the average American is irrelevant to the chart.

I think the point here, however, is that Americans (and citizens around the world in general, for that matter) aren’t getting enough vitamins and minerals, and synthetic versions of these things aren’t be absorbed properly, if at all. So, maybe it isn’t the WHOLE answer, per se, but it’s definitely a big part of it, and if you can’t see that, then you should probably go back to school and retrain yourself in a few hundred nutrition classes.

Stay off the 5 white poisons. Flour, sugar, salt, dairy and meat.

Who was talking about food cravings? All I’ve said is that your body has no use with more vitamins and minerals than it needs.

If you have research concluding the contrary, by all means cite it.

Actually, it is. There is growing evidence that any body which is receiving an abundance of varied nutrients, and is fully capable of digesting and accessing those nutrients (this is a key point) will be freed from physical cravings. Habitual and emotionally driven cravings are a different matter and may take some time to overcome, however if the required nutrient levels are maintained in the body then the mind is freed to tackle the other issues and will eventually succeed.

aawants to find a man who will share a good time with me

I’ve never had success with portion control. But I’ve found that food combining is definitely effective. Especially with the right supplements. See my profile if you want to learn more.

Yes. Well articulated indeed.

I’m glad you got my point. A fucking chimpanzee could make a better, well reasoned argument than you.

If anyone has any WELL-ARTICULATED counterarguments to anything I’ve said, I’d be glad to respond.

No what everything you said was wrong, and YOU are irrelevant.

Not only is everything you said wrong, but it’s also irrelevant.

Maybe the Western diet isn’t healthy, but the solution isn’t to try to consume as many vitamins and minerals as possible. That’s my only point here.

@newguy90 The Italians still mostly have cheese and tomato sauce on their ” pizza “.They don’t add meat to theirs like we do.Meat in the old days was very expensive.

@iDansWorld I’ve been to Key West and tasted two of the pies. They were too sour and tart and I love sour things.I prefer my own version of the pie which is just 4 ingredients like the original K W pie has.I do add lime rind to my pie along with a drop of green food coloring.

That lady cooks good but she is ghetto.lol Not thats not a bad thing…

digestive is kinda the same thing…

Good point.

Go easy on her. Sometimes you have to work with what’s available. That’s how the United States came up with their own versions of many dishes, like pizza. Immigrants had to improvise because they couldn’t get the ingredients that were available in their old country.

it is all wrong. you dont put lemon or lime you dont put 1 full egg and u cant substitute graham cracker crust with digestives. anways what the hell is a digestive.

No, I’m sorry, but there is absolutely no substitute for graham cracker crust, nor Key limes (regular limes were used in this recipe, but they can’t match they flavor of the actual Key lime).

Well, I guess the rest of the recipe is alright, though. However, if you want the real deal, you have to go to Key West! lol

wonderful!!!
